Dr. Billy Wong (Associate Professor in Widening Participation, University of Reading) was an invited speaker at the University of California San Diego and San Diego State University (USA), as part of their Sowder Mathematics & Science Education Research seminar series on 18th October 2021. Delivered on-line, Dr. Wong presented his work on the ideal student in a public lecture, followed by a seminar with doctoral students.

Over the summer, @TalkingHE, a podcast on issues related to higher education, invited Dr. Wong and his colleague Dr. Tiffany Chiu (Imperial College London) to talk about what it means to be a university student. The podcast is available to listen here.

Dr. Wong and Dr. Chiu gave an invited talk at the School of Education, Zhejiang University (China) on 29th July 2021 as part of their international summer programme that focused on ‘quality education for a post-pandemic world’. Their book on the ideal student was discussed.
