Dr. Billy Wong (Associate Professor in Widening Participation, University of Reading) was invited as a keynote speaker at Imperial College London’s annual Festival of Learning and Teaching, held on the 16th, 17th and 18th May. This year’s theme was Identity and Belonging in Higher Education: Navigating Culture, Challenge and Change.

Attended by over 100 staff, Dr. Wong was joined by Dr. Karen Gravett (University of Surrey) and Dr. Camille Kandiko Howson (Imperial College London) in their panel and discussion on day 2 of the event. His keynote focused on the challenge of belonging for minority ethnic students at university, drawing on his recent Student Experiences in STEM (SESTEM) research project.
