Manik Puranik

Manik is a postdoctoral research associate on the UKRI-funded FoodSEqual Project, leading nutritional biomarker research to address health inequalities in disadvantaged communities. Her role combines advanced analytical work with strategic leadership and engagement. She measures dietary markers from urine and hair samples using LC-MS, UHPLC, ICP-MS, IRMS, and QTOF-MS. She coordinates multi-site research activities across Reading, Plymouth, Brighton & Hove, and Tower Hamlets, manages collaborations with multidisciplinary teams, and adapts communication for diverse audiences. A key focus of her role is disseminating the project’s findings to academic peers, stakeholders, and community groups, ensuring evidence informs practice and policy. Through rigorous experimental design and stakeholder engagement, Manik contributes to co-producing healthier, sustainable food systems.
