Project Title: Participatory frameworks for enhancing sustainability and resilience in urban agriculture
Co-Supervised at: University of Reading, Cranfield University and CoFarm Cambridge
Imogen Hockenhull is a Food Systems Equality (FoodSEqual) PhD student based at the University of Reading. Her research interests fall broadly within the areas of urban farming, sustainable crop production and food security. Her PhD project will utilise stakeholder engagement and participatory research techniques to co-develop a set of methodological frameworks identifying and monitoring key economic, environmental, and social sustainability indicators within an urban community farm. The project will provide a way by which community food initiatives can reflect, improve, and scale up their activities as well as share evidence-based case studies of good practice in urban agriculture to a wider audience.
