This week Division member Alex Arnall is working on the North Norfolk coastline looking at the causes and effects of coastal erosion and flooding, and what climate change and sea level rise mean for these processes in the region. Norfolk has one of the fastest eroding coastlines in the country, which is causing major challenges for coastal communities and local authorities. Commenting on his research, Alex said, “There is an urgent need to assist people to adapt to sea level rise. We are interested in learning about how local experiences and narratives of change are shaping dialogues taking place at the district and national levels about how to adapt to climate change in a fair and socially just manner.”
