On the 23rd of June, Professor Avril Maddrell published the opening piece entitled ‘Bereavement, grief, and consolation: Emotional-affective geographies of loss during COVID-19’ for a special COVID-19 related volume of Dialogues in Human Geography. The article discusses the geographies of loss, in particular bereavement, in relation to the current pandemic. She describes the emotional-affective topographies created by COVID 19 and their wider implications for local and global policy interventions. The article is open- access and can be found here.
