Doctoral researcher at the Department of International Development, School of Agriculture, Policy, and Development, Young Kafwembe, was recently invited as a guest on the Social Impact Journal Podcast, where he shared tips on PhD scholarship application processes for potential PhD students. The aim of this interview was to bridge the information gaps associated with PhD scholarship application procedures, an acute challenge for prospective applicants in the Global South. Drawing on his Commonwealth PhD scholarship application experience, Young shared his story of moving from Zambia to study for a PhD at the University of Reading in the UK. In doing so, Young provided insights into PhD scholarship application processes and highlighted lessons for potential PhD students.
