This is a project run by researchers at the University of Reading and partly funded by the Undergraduate Research Opportunities (UROP) Scheme.

We explore the views of professionals and families of children and young individuals defined in governmental guidance as "vulnerable" during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

A note on vulnerability:

We have used the term ‘vulnerable’ to reflect the terminology used in Governmental policy and guidance in relation to the provision of public services during the COVID-19 pandemic. We understand that this is a term that may or may not apply to the child/children in your care, regardless of whether they meet the Government’s vulnerability criteria. We acknowledge how the use of such a term can be controversial and we seek to reassure participants that we are committed to the use of language that respects the dignity and autonomy of all.
