Alissar Cheaib is a postdoctoral researcher in the PhUnFETTy Lab at Texas Tech University. Her research focuses on photosynthetic least-cost theory and how soil resources (water and nutrients), along with resource nutrient-acquisition strategies (e.g., mycorrhizal association types and symbiosis

with N2-fixing bacteria), influence leaf and whole-plant water and nutrient economics. From 2012 to 2022, she was an associate professor (primarily teaching) at Saint-Joseph University and Lebanese University in Lebanon. Previously, she worked on assessing model uncertainties arising from different formulations in predicting climate change impacts on future tree ranges at University Paris 11-CNRS, France, and completed her PhD at University Bordeaux I – INRAE, France.
