Evan Perkowski is a PhD student in the Department of Biological Sciences at Texas Tech University working with Assistant Prof. Nick Smith.

Evan’s research focuses on determining primary climatic and edaphic drivers of plant nitrogen acquisition and allocation strategies. He hopes to use data from field, greenhouse, and growth chamber experiments to develop a framework that allows us to better understand how nitrogen acquisition and allocation strategy influences leaf and whole plant physiology through the lens of eco-evolutionary optimality and least-cost theory.
