People in Your Neighbourhood

Ruth Evans has produced a video with Year 7 students  in Reading who participated in the These are the People in Your Neighbourhood  performance art project. The street performances in East Reading on 30 June & 1st July 2016 were very amusing – the young people were the stars, entertaining the public about local business owners in their neighbourhood.

The project is a collaboration between Canadian artists, Mammalian Diving Reflex, Maiden Erlegh School in Reading and the Department of Art, University of Reading.

The project was featured on Alt Reading and students were interviewed for BBC Radio Berkshire’s Breakfast show!

The video shows the impact of the project on the young people, local businesses, art teacher and audience members. The young people did some filming!
