Abstract:
Nutrition messages have become more complicated over the decades but are consumers even listening? What can we do to make our nutrition messages clearer and more effective? This presentation will look at the evolution of public health nutrition messages, evidence on consumer impact from scientific studies and the grey literature, and a dissection of the efficacy of different approaches e.g. multiple versus single messages. We will also consider which nutrition messages may be most likely to impact on risk of early mortality. The presentation finishes with key considerations for improving existing nutrition messages and research gaps.
