Emma is a lecturer in speech and language therapy, clinical academic and practicing speech and language therapist at the University of Reading.

Emma’s research interests focus on speech, language and communication needs in childhood and include interventions to improve communication outcomes, accessibility of support for children with communication needs, involving people with experience of speech, language and communication needs in research, evidence-based practice and developing clinical research capacity in speech and language therapy.

Prior to taking up her current role at the University of Reading, Emma was the Research Manager for the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.

Vesna is a professor of clinical linguistics at the University of Reading.

Her research interests focus on the nature of language and communication development in children affected by genetic conditions such as Williams syndrome and Down Syndrome.

Vesna is particularly interested in interventions to improve the communication outcomes for children and optimising children’s educational and social outcomes through intervention.
