On Wednesday 6 March 2019, the University of Reading held an event to celebrate the International Women’s Day. The event was opened by the Vice Chancellor, and featured Professor Carol Fuller (Professor of Sociology of Education, University of Reading’s Institute of Education).

Drawing on her research about gender, identity and her work on ‘Marvellous Mums’, Professor Fuller argued that whilst there is much to celebrate in terms of gender equality there is still much work to be done in terms of ensuring that this equality is experienced by all women, not just some.
