The Excellence in Impact Awards, organised by the University of Oxford’s Economic and Social Research Council Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) recognise and reward the successes of social science researchers  who have achieved outstanding economic and societal impacts through their research.

In a highly competitive field, research by Prof. Suzanne Graham (Professor of Language and Education, University of Reading) was judged to deserve recognition for its impact on foreign language teaching practices and student achievement internationally. The impact was achieved through a number of research projects from 2018-2021, ranging from work on primary-secondary school transition, to improving language learning through poetry, reaching over 56,000 learners and their teachers in over 121 countries since 2018. Suzanne was presented with a Highly Commended certificate at the awards ceremony in Oxford on Tuesday 19th October 2021.
