In March 2018, as a part of the course 'Brazilian Music and Film' at the Reading Film Theatre, students were asked to talk about their favourite songs. Following the model of Edquardo Coutinho's documentary feature 'Songs' ('As Canções', 2011), they chose tunes related to their own stories and shared them with the other people on the course.

Inspired by the Brazilian films in the season, they also had to explore the intermediate relation between music and cinema. Some of them analysed different performances of the same lyrics, attending to the staging elements and the visual style. Others created a personal piece by editing a short clip with different images.

Here we present some excerpts of their memories and creations.
