Report – Neighbourhood Planning HIVE event:  University of Reading

6th June 2018

On Wednesday 6th June 2018 the University of Reading  hosted the first Neighbourhood Planning HIVE event for groups engaged in neighbourhood planning.

The HIVE event was designed to bring together neighbourhood planners actively engaged in the process to come together to discuss and share experience and knowledge. This process of mutual support and peer learning is recognised as important and valued in neighbourhood planning and the event is being specifically designed to reflect the issues of importance to those attending. The agenda was shaped to reflect the experiences, needs and priorities of participants as identified in a pre-event questionnaire.

The day centred around a series of ‘workshops’ with plenty of opportunity for attendees to discuss and work through any particular issues or challenges their group was facing.

Led by Professor Gavin Parker and his research team – who have extensive experience of neighbourhood planning and have published widely in the field, as well as having practical experience of neighbourhood planning. They will produce a report which will provide  practical advice to help groups progress their plan. This report will form the basis for us to continue engagement with and feedback to Central Government.

The full report will be produced shortly.
