Turbulence Research Group
The Turbulence Research Group studies small-scale flows in the atmosphere and oceans where turbulence is present. Recent research has included urban boundary layers, dispersion, air quality, ocean mixed layer dynamics, cloud-topped boundary layers, convection, orographic drag, and clear air turbulence, using methods such as ground-based remote sensing, large eddy simulation, mesoscale modelling, theoretical development and parametrization. The group meets during academic terms with a variety of informal talks, visitor seminars, paper reviews, and discussions.
