Our Activities

The KIARA project brings together a range of interconnected activities designed to support the transition to regenerative agriculture. These include baseline research, the development of online training for advisors, extension skills development, and the creation of a Visual Problem Appraisal (VPA) course. In addition, KIARA delivers practical, field-based learning through Farmer Field Schools, farmer training and on-farm visits to encourage knowledge exchange and real-world application.

Baseline Research

We are undertaking baseline research to better understand access to advisory services, barriers to support, knowledge transfer processes, and structural challenges affecting small- and medium-scale farms across the project regions. This research helps ensure that KIARA’s activities are grounded in real needs and local contexts.

Extension Skills Online Course

Our 4-week online training course in Extension Skills is designed for agricultural educators and advisors in Poland, Ukraine and Slovakia. The course focuses on strengthening communication, facilitation and advisory skills to better support farmers in adopting sustainable practices.

Regenerative Agriculture Online Training

The 4-week online course, “Coaching Farmers through Transitions in Regenerative Agriculture”, equips advisors and educators with the knowledge and tools needed to guide farmers through the transition to regenerative systems.

Visual Problem Appraisal (VPA) Course

This course uses video-based interviews with stakeholders to enable learners to explore real-world challenges and perspectives related to regenerative agriculture in Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine. It supports critical thinking and problem-solving in complex farming systems.

Farmer Field Schools

KIARA supports local groups of farmers in Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine to explore regenerative agriculture practices in real farm conditions. These Farmer Field Schools provide a collaborative, hands-on learning environment where farmers can test and adapt new approaches.

Farmer Training and Visit Days

We are organising farm visits and technical training days to connect farmers with practical knowledge and innovative practices. These events provide opportunities for peer learning, knowledge exchange and direct engagement with regenerative agriculture in action.
