Kirk Taylor (School of Biological Sciences) has received a British Heart Foundation Research Grant for work on the regulation of atherothrombosis and thromboinflammation by pannexin-1 channels.

Nigel Arnell (School of Mathematical, Physical & Computational Sciences) has received a Research Grant from ClimateWorks Foundation for his review of potential indicators of climate change, ecosystem change and societal collapse.

Benjamin Bland (School of Humanities) has been awarded a Fellowship from the Leverhulme Trust for his research on Music, Race, and Urban Youth Culture in Post-War Britain.

David Sutton (School of Literature and Language) has received a Research Grant from the British Academy.

Helen Dacre (School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences) has received a Lloyds Tercentenary Research Foundation Grant for work on the Volcanic Ash Dosage and Risk Tool (VDART).

Vicky Boult (School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences) has received a Research Grant from the University of York for research on Drought Impact Forecasting.

Sandy Harrison (School of Geography and Environmental Sciences) has received a Horizon Europe MSCA Research Grant for work on The Role of Integrated Fire Management on Climate Change Adaptation for Ecosystem Services in Tropical and Subtropical Regions.

Kevin Hodges (School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences) has received an MET Research Grant for work on predicting future climate extremes in China.

Kieran Hunt (School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences) has been awarded an NERC Fellowship for Mesoscale convective systems over India, Tracking, Research, and Experimentation (MITRE).

Roger Matthews (School of Archaeology, Geography and Environmental Science) has been awarded a British Institute of Persian Studies Research Grant for his analysis of animal bones from Iranian Epipalaeolithic-Neolithic sites on the Caspian shores.

Gabor Thomas (School of Archaeology, Geography and Environmental Science) has received a Heritage England Research Grant for his project to consolidate, enhance and promote the archive of Brian Hope-Taylor’s excavations between 1953 and 1958.

Erin Shearer (School of Humanities has been awarded a studentship from AHRC for her project entitled ‘Women of Violence: Challenging Perceptions of Enslaved Women’s Resistance in the Antebellum US South’.

Becks Spake (School of Biological Sciences) has been awarded a Research Grant from NERC for her project entitled ‘iDeer: An Integrated Deer Management Platform’.

Martin Lukac (School of Agriculture, Policy and Development) has received a Research Grant from NERC for his work on Agroforestry Futures.
