The CICE consortiuum was recognised at the R&D 100 winning gold in the Special Recognition: Corporate Social Responsibility Award. CICE is a computationally efficient model for simulating the growth, melting, and movement of polar sea ice whose main developers are at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (USA). The University has contributed through the creation of new parameterisations of physical processes affecting sea ice, led by Professor Danny Feltham with Drs David Schroeder and Daniela Flocco (Meteorology).
