About

I am a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Reading. My research interests lie in the areas of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, specifically with applications in computer vision and recommender systems. I am particularly passionate about the concept of explainable AI, which aims to enable humans to understand the underlying rationale behind AI system decisions. In my doctoral thesis, I am focusing on the explainability of visually-aware recommender systems capable of making recommendations based on users’ visual preferences along with explanations. I am exploring how the utilization of multi-modal data, including users’ behavioral data, images and graphs, can enhance their accuracy and explainability. I also have an interest in Natural Language Processing (NLP), particularly in the application of explainable AI techniques to various NLP tasks such as question answering, commonsense validation, and word sense disambiguation.
