We are delighted to launch the digital exhibit of Winckelmann & Curiosity in the 18th-Century Gentleman’s Library. This online exhibit provides access to all the text and images provided in the exhibit presented in Christ Church Upper Library, University of Oxford, June-November 2018, in collaboration between the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology, University of Reading, the final UK event on the international Winckelmann Jubilees 2017-18.
A lecture on Drawing and Winckelmann’s taste for elegant simplicity from Professor Amy C. Smith, Curator of the Ure Museum, will mark the launch of the online exhibit: Wednesday 20 November 2019.
