Isidora is a PhD student based in the Department of Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Reading. Her research focuses on identifying the importance of climate, vegetation, and human factors in wildfire patterns, with the aim of providing more robust predictions of future changes in the wildfire regime. The methodology includes data analysis and the development of an empirical model to reconstruct burned area during the Holocene. During her MRes at the University of Leeds, she worked on evaluating the INFERNO (Interactive Fires and Emissions algorithm for Natural Environments) model’s ability to simulate the co-occurrence of heatwaves and droughts with wildfire patterns according to satellite observations.
