In our latest Think-Piece, Nathan Salvidge, Doctoral Research Student in Geography & Environmental Science at the University of Reading, discusses his recent research on gender relations in informal work in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Informal work is expected to continue to grow and remain a vital source of income for millions of people within urban localities across the global South for many decades. In this blogpost, Nathan reflects on the need to include men within gender analyses of informality, based on the findings of his preliminary research.
