Role

I am a PhD student in the Department of Archaeology at University of Reading. My project is part of REMADE as I will be using an interdisciplinary approach which combines numismatic, archaeological and metallurgical analysis to explore the production and use of Barbarous Radiate coinage in the late 3rd century.

Background

I hold a BA in History from Royal Holloway University of London and an MA in Classical Art and Archaeology from the Kings College London. My MA dissertation focused on Roman housing and social status in Winchester. I have two years of experience working with archaeological artefacts as a Finds Liaison Officer with the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) in Cornwall. Through this role I developed an interest in Roman metal artefacts, particularly Roman numismatics. I am also interested the archaeology of Roman Britain and archaeological research using material recorded through metal-detecting.
