Seongmee Yoon is a PhD candidate specializing in heritage and museum interpretation. One of my research interests focuses on the utilization of digital technology to enhance storytelling, engagement, and preservation, thereby transforming the visitor experience with cultural assets and historical narratives.
On October 22nd to November 24th, 2022, I had the privilege of collaborating with the Goring Library in Oxfordshire on an exciting project. I utilized QR codes and a website to introduce library visitors to a captivating topic that I was actively researching.
My research endeavors revolve around exploring innovative approaches to integrate traditional museum interpretation with cutting-edge digital advancements. I am particularly intrigued by the potential of digital technologies to present enigmatic historical burial sites like Sutton Hoo, while also addressing ethical considerations and ensuring sensitivity, especially in cases involving human remains.
