ENG: Dr Rija Fenosoa Andrianantoanina is a Professor-Researcher and lecturer at the University of Itasy, where she currently serves as the coordinator of the Mention Communication program. Her expertise extends to providing guidance and support for university projects in Territorial Communication and overseeing the supervision of Master’s thesis work in Communication and Local Dynamics. As a member of the Center for Research in Communication at the University of Antananarivo, Fenosoa actively contributes to the organization of communication study days, having played a crucial role in five editions of the event. She has co-authored the C4D Guide for APRM projects funded by IFAD in 2019, in addition to publishing two scientific articles in the proceedings of the ORBICOM Congress in 2021 and 2022 – a network of UNESCO Chairs in Communication. Recognized as the focal point of the advanced seminar in communication sciences GPB, established through the initiative of Gaëtan Tremblay (UQAM Canada), in close collaboration with Pierre Moeglin (Paris 13) and Bernard Miège (Grenoble 3), Fenosoa has actively participated in the seminar since 2012 and takes charge of facilitating the activities at the Antananarivo site.

ENG: ANDRIATSALAMA Albert, born on March 29, 1969, in Toamasina, hails from a modest background, being the fifth child among six siblings raised by his mother. Despite facing adversity in his childhood, he achieved remarkable academic success. After completing his high school education in general mechanics, he pursued studies in private law and public law at the Faculty of Law in Andrianjato University, earning a Master’s degree. Currently serving as a Civil Administrator and a doctoral candidate in Anthropology, he holds degrees from the National School of Administration of Madagascar (ENAM) and has advanced studies in public administration. With prior experience as a District Chief, Prefect, Director, and Secretary General in various ministries, he possesses extensive expertise in the Malagasy administration. In addition, he completed the higher diplomatic course at the Center for Diplomatic and Strategic Studies of Madagascar. Leveraging his wealth of experience, ANDRIATSALAMA Albert shares his knowledge as a training instructor at ENAM, the Higher Police School, and INFA.

FR: ANDRIATSALAMA Albert   est né le 29 mars 1969 à Toamasina de père Antaisaka et de mère Betsimisaraka de confession protestante de l’église reformée FJKM .  Issu d’une famille modeste, il est le  5ème enfant parmi les six, lesquels la mère a élevés toute seule.  Certes, il a passé une période difficile pendant son enfance, mais cette situation ne l’a pas empêché d’effectuer ses études brillamment. Après avoir eu le baccalauréat en mécanique générale, il a intégré l’Université Andrianjato de Fianarantsoa pour suivre ses études de droit privé et droit public dans la Faculté de Droit avec laquelle il a eu le diplôme de Maîtrise. Étant actuellement, Administrateur Civil, sortant de  l’École Nationale d’Administration de Madagascar ou ENAM et doctorant en Anthropologie, il est également diplômé en hautes études d’administration publique de ladite Ecole. Par ailleurs, il était diplômé de cycle diplomatique supérieur du Centre des Études Diplomatiques et Stratégiques de Madagascar de la Promotion Bao ANDRIAMANJATO. Vu les postes qu’il a occupés, entre autres, Chef District, Préfet, Directeurs et Secrétaire Général au sein des différents ministères, on peut dire qu’il a accumulé d’énormes expériences dans l’Administration malagasy. Eu égard à toutes ces raisons précédemment citées, il dispense aujourd’hui des cours à l’ENAM, à l’Ecole Supérieure de la Police et à l’INFA en tant qu’enseignant formateur.

ENG: Mark Barrow is a dedicated PhD Candidate in Politics and International Studies at the prestigious University of Cambridge, affiliated with Christ’s College. His research focuses on the success and effectiveness of peace-building civil society organisations, accounting for the various social, political and economic challenges they face, and their ability to form transnational networks. Mark’s research concentrates on civil society organizations engaged in Cyprus amidst the ongoing conflict on the island. His diverse research interests encompass areas such as peacebuilding, conflict resolution, civil society, transnationalism, digital transnationalism, international organizations, unofficial diplomacy, mediation, and the role of communication technologies in politics. Alongside his academic pursuits, Mark serves as the Managing Editor of the esteemed Cambridge Review of International Relations, further showcasing his dedication to advancing scholarly discourse in the field.

ENG: Dr. Chaplain Toto is the Director of the ITPT/CEREL (Institute of Tourism, Heritage, and Territories / Center for Ethnology and Linguistics Studies) at the University of Toamasina. With a Ph.D. in History, he serves as a teacher-researcher in the Department of History at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences. His doctoral research focused on the political formations that emerged in Eastern Madagascar during the royal era from the 17th to the 19th century, a significant period coinciding with the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Dr. Chaplain Toto has published numerous articles shedding light on European experiences along the Malagasy coasts, the slave trade, and power struggles in the Betsimisaraka region. His primary interest lies in tracing the trajectories of the Makoa, a group of former slaves in Madagascar who continue to confront marginalization. Expanding his research to the northernmost regions of Madagascar, he serves as a visiting professor at the University of Antsiranana, teaching the history of kingdoms and the slave trade. In this role, he trains aspiring historians in historical research techniques, aiming to build a database of testimonies from increasingly scarce sources. His ongoing research involves documenting and mapping sensitive historical sites, embracing the concept of heritage preservation through the cultural practices and gestures shared by the communities in northern Madagascar.

FR: Dr. Chaplain Toto est le Directeur de l’ITPT/CEREL (Institut du Tourisme des Patrimoines et des Territoires / Centre d’Études et de Recherches en Ethnologie et Linguistique) à l’Université de Toamasina. Titulaire d’un doctorat en Histoire, il occupe le poste d’enseignant-chercheur au sein du Département d’Histoire de la Faculté des Lettres et Sciences Humaines. Sa thèse de doctorat s’est concentrée sur les formations politiques qui ont émergé dans l’est de Madagascar pendant l’ère royale, du XVIIe au XIXe siècle, une période importante coïncidant avec la traite transatlantique des esclaves. Dr. Chaplain Toto a publié de nombreux articles éclairant les expériences européennes le long des côtes malgaches, la traite des esclaves et les luttes de pouvoir dans la région de Betsimisaraka. Son intérêt principal réside dans la reconstitution des trajectoires des Makoa, un groupe d’anciens esclaves à Madagascar qui continue de faire face à la marginalisation. En élargissant ses recherches aux régions les plus septentrionales de Madagascar, il occupe le poste de professeur invité à l’Université d’Antsiranana, enseignant l’histoire des royaumes et de la traite des esclaves. Dans ce rôle, il forme de jeunes historiens aux techniques de recherche historique, dans le but de constituer une base de données à partir de témoignages de sources de plus en plus rares. Ses recherches en cours consistent à documenter et cartographier des sites historiques sensibles, en adoptant le concept de préservation du patrimoine à travers les pratiques culturelles et les gestes partagés par les communautés du nord de Madagascar.

ENG: Isobel joined Palgrave Macmillan in 2021, initially commissioning on the Psychology list. She moved to the Politics team in November 2022 and is enjoying building a diverse list in International Studies. As well as managing a number of series, she focuses on publishing research in diplomacy, migration and citizenship, democracy and foreign policy. She welcomes proposals from young and established scholars alike, across a wide range of formats. Previously, Isobel worked at Rowman & Littlefield International and Cambridge University Press.

ENG: Dr. Emmanuel DOLIFERA, born on December 25, 1974, in Mananara-Nord, Madagascar, is an academic and philosopher. In December 2010, he defended his doctoral thesis in political and legal philosophy titled “Justice and democracy in the political thought of John RAWLS.”  Since September 2011, Dr. DOLIFERA has held the position of Lecturer at the University of Toamasina. In this role, he has excelled as a Professor/Researcher, guiding and mentoring students pursuing their Master’s degree in Philosophy. Additionally, he has contributed to the advancement of knowledge by co-supervising doctoral theses at both the University of Toamasina and the Catholic University of Madagascar (U.C.M). Dr. DOLIFERA’s expertise and leadership abilities have been recognized through various administrative roles. From 2006 to 2009, he served as the Director of the Department of Philosophy at U.C.M. Subsequently, from 2013 to 2018, he held the prestigious position of Director at the University of Toamasina. During his tenure, he demonstrated exceptional management skills and fostered an environment conducive to academic growth. Notable among his publications are “Special interest versus general interest: The relationship between ‘the rational’ and ‘reason,’ as exemplified in African and Malagasy policies,” (in French) presented at an international colloquium in Rouen, France, held on March 20-22, 2013. Additionally, his critical study titled “From invisibility to visibility: A comprehensive examination of contemporary social problems” (in French) was featured in the ACM Journal in 2021.

ENG: Professor Faratiana M. ESOAVELOMANDROSO is a Professor of Higher Education and Research in Private Law at the University of Antananarivo. She has a Doctorate in Private Law and has a HDR from the Faculty of Law at the University of Aix-Marseille thus authorized to Supervise Research in Legal Sciences. For a span of three years, she held the position of Chair of the Commission for the Reform of Business Law (CRDA), and she has been an esteemed member of the Commission for the Reform of the Rights of the Child (CRDE) since its inception. In addition, she serves as an associate member of the Malagasy Academy, specifically in the moral and political sciences section. Currently, Faratiana M. ESOAVELOMANDROSO holds the position of Secretary General of the Association Henri Capitant – Madagascar Group, further showcasing her commitment to advancing legal scholarship and practice.

FR: Professor Faratiana M. ESOAVELOMANDROSO est Professeure d’Enseignement Supérieur et de Recherche en Droit Privé à l’Université d’Antananarivo. Elle est titulaire d’un Doctorat en Droit Privé et d’une Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) de la Faculté de Droit de l’Université d’Aix-Marseille, ce qui lui confère l’autorisation de superviser des recherches en Sciences Juridiques. De plus, elle est membre associée de l’Académie Malgache, plus précisément dans la section des sciences morales et politiques. Actuellement, Faratiana M. ESOAVELOMANDROSO occupe le poste de Secrétaire Générale de l’Association Henri Capitant – Groupe Madagascar, démontrant ainsi son engagement en faveur de l’avancement de la recherche et de la pratique juridiques.

ENG: Dr Matthew Gordon is a Visiting Fellow at Philipps-Universität Marburg in Germany, where he is researching alternative approaches to peacebuilding and statebuilding in Somaliland. He recently received his PhD at the Department of Politics and International Studies at SOAS, University of London. Prior to his current studies, Mr. Gordon worked for over six years as an advisor and consultant in diplomacy, local governance, land issues, peacebuilding and statebuilding for a variety of international agencies, including UNDP, the Rift Valley Institute and Independent Diplomat. This included four years living and working in Somaliland, Somalia and Kenya, where he worked especially closely with, and often as a colleague of, national government actors, in particular those at the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and National Development of Somaliland.

FR: Dr Matthew Gordon est chercheur invité à l’université Philipps-Universität Marburg en Allemagne, où il mène des recherches sur les approches alternatives de consolidation de la paix et de construction de l’État au Somaliland. ENG: Professor Emile KASY is a scholar and expert in the fields of Law, Management, and Economics, with a particular focus on Development Economics, Health Economics, International Economics, Public Policy, Poverty Alleviation, and Sustainable Development. Affiliated with the Faculty of Law, Management, Economics, Mathematics, and Applied Computer Science at the University of Toamasina in Madagascar, Prof. KASY has made contributions to the understanding of economic growth and poverty reduction in developing countries. His research in Health Economics explores the impact of healthcare policies on well-being and economic development, while his expertise in International Economics sheds light on the implications of global trade and financial flows. Prof. KASY’s dedication to studying Public Policy and designing poverty alleviation strategies demonstrates his commitment to promoting inclusive growth and sustainable development.

ENG: Anya KUTELEVA is an interdisciplinary scholar whose work intertwines international relations, development studies, energy security, and feminist-informed approaches to politics. Her research centers on the nexus between politics and sociocultural contexts in international relations and develops a cross-disciplinary methodological toolkit around the concept of discursive politics. She is particularly interested in politics in China, Russia, Canada, and the Central Asian region. In 2022, she joined the University of Wolverhampton (UK) as a senior lecturer in International Relations. Previously, she obtained a PhD in Political Science from the University of Alberta (Canada) and held a post-doctoral fellowship at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (Russia). She is the author of China’s Energy Security and Relations with Petrostates: Oil as an Idea (Routledge 2021) and published articles in leading academic journals, including Europe-Asia Studies, Eurasian Geography and Economics, Problems of Post-Communism, European Journal of International Security, and Energy Research & Social Science.

FR: Anya KUTELEVA est une chercheuse interdisciplinaire dont le travail entrelace les relations internationales, les études du développement, la sécurité énergétique et les approches féministes de la politique. ENG: Dr Denis-Alexandre Lahiniriko is a lecturer in the Department of History at the University of Antananarivo and an associate researcher at the Centre d’histoire sociale des mondes contemporains, affiliated with the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and CNRS (UMR 8058). With a keen interest in the contemporary history of Madagascar, his research primarily focuses on the period of decolonization in the country. In recent years, he has dedicated his efforts to analyzing various aspects of contemporary Malagasy life, particularly examining issues related to the State and the democratization process. Recently, Lahiniriko published “Le Mouvement Démocratique de la Rénovation Malgache (1946-1958),” a notable contribution that delves into the historical significance and impact of the Malagasy Democratic Movement for Renovation during that specific time period.

FR: Dr Denis-Alexandre Lahiniriko est maître de Conférences au département d’histoire de l’université d’Antananarivo et chercheur associé au Centre d’histoire sociale des mondes contemporains de l’université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne et du CNRS (UMR 8058). Il s’intéresse à diverses thématiques de l’histoire contemporaine de Madagascar et notamment celle de la période de la décolonisation à Madagascar.  Depuis quelques années, il s’est orienté vers l’analyse de la vie contemporaine malgache et notamment les problématiques liées à l’Etat et au processus de démocratisation. Récemment il a publié « Le Mouvement Démocratique de la Rénovation Malgache (1946-1958).

ENG: Dr. Sahondra Chantale RAFANOMEZANTSOA, born in 1982 in Antsiriribe Antananarivo, is a lecturer at the University of Toamasina. In July 2022, she defended her doctoral thesis titled “Access and control of documentary information as a basis for development in Madagascar.” She is a Professor in the Mentions History, Anthropology, and at the Institute of Tourism, Heritage, and Territory within the University of Toamasina. With specialization in Contemporary History, Dr. RAFANOMEANTSOA is a skilled historian and documentalist. She pursued her university studies in the History Mention, Information Documentation-Archivistic-Museology course at the University of Antananarivo. In addition, she is a member of the Association of Library and Documentary Information Professionals in Madagascar (APBIM).

FR:Dr. Sahondra Chantale RAFANOMEZANTSOA, née en 1982 à Antsiriribe Antananarivo, est maître de conférences à l’Université de Toamasina. En juillet 2022, elle a défendu sa thèse doctorale intitulée “Accès et contrôle de l’information documentaire comme base de développement à Madagascar”. Elle est professeure dans les mentions Histoire, Anthropologie, et à l’Institut du Tourisme, du Patrimoine et du Territoire au sein de l’Université de Toamasina. De plus, elle est membre de l’Association des Professionnels des Bibliothèques et de l’Information Documentaire de Madagascar (APBIM).

ENG: Daniel FENO obtained his C.A.P.E.N. (Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude from the École Normale) at the École Normale Supérieure for Technical Education (E.N.S.E.T.) of the University of Antsiranana (Madagascar) in 1995. He completed his D.E.A (Advanced Studies Diploma) in Mathematics at the University of Antananarivo (Madagascar) in 1999, and his Ph.D. in Discrete Mathematics at the University of La Réunion (France) in 2007. His research focuses on data mining in large volumes of data and mathematics education. Since 2011, he has been a Lecturer at the University of Toamasina (Madagascar), where he imparts his expertise to students.

ENG: Lalatiana RAKOTONDRANAIVO is a Research Assistant and a communication specialist at the ESRC-funded Hybricon project. She has been a conflict sensitive communication specialist and consultant for nine (9) years. She has extensive experience in peace journalism and story-telling. She trains media actors and local leaders on conflict transformation, non-violent communication and interest-based dialogue. Previously, she worked for Search for Common Ground as Media and Project Coordinator, as a Senior Journalist where she managed the team of journalists, trained journalists and produced radio programmes, and as a journalist managing SFC’s networks of correspondents and carrying out interviews and news reports. Lalatiana was also a Video Reporter of the renowned TV and Radio outlet Radio Television Analamanga (RTA) in Madagascar where she was in charge of building stories, filming, and scriptwriting.  She is passionate about storytelling and peacebuilding. She is convinced that each story has many perspectives to be discovered. Everyone’s voice matters and should be heard. Lalatiana has got a Theology diploma from the Sekoly Teolojikam-Paritany Loterana (STPL/ Lutheran Regional Theological School) Atsimoniavoko, a Masters degree in Languages, Cultures, and Communication as well as a Bachelor degree in media communication from the University of Antananarivo.

ENG: RALAY Hanitriniony Donas, a freelance journalist, discovered her passion for journalism during her internship at the Express de Madagascar in 2005, while she was studying communication at the University of Antananarivo. In 2007, she officially began her career in journalism, which led her to become the head of the economics section of a national daily newspaper for an impressive eight-year tenure, after earning a master’s degree in languages, culture, and communication from the Interdisciplinary Department of Professional Training at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences. Following her stint in print media, RALAY ventured into the digital realm by joining forces with fellow journalists to create a blog, where she shared her insights for three years. Since 2021, she has been actively working as a freelance journalist for outlets such as Kanto Mag, Expansion, Politikà, www.upwork.com, and gazety Fahazavana. RALAY’s online presence extends to managing the win Facebook page and maintaining her engaging blog at http://blogwinmada.blogspot.com. In addition to her journalistic pursuits, RALAY is a dedicated student of theology for lay people and possesses a passion for language learning. She has embarked on the study of languages such as Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, and Hindi. ENG: Dr. Rose Nicole RAMAROJOHN was born on August 20, 1953 in Antananarivo. She completed her doctoral training in French Studies at the University of Toliara in collaboration with the University Michel de Montaigne Bordeaux 3 and the University of Toamasina. In December 2004, she successfully defended her doctoral thesis in General and French Linguistics titled “Errors and Mistakes: Issues in Learning and Acquisition of French as a Second Language, A Case Study of Students at the University of Toamasina.” She participated in the “Multidisciplinary International Colloquium: Science, Languages, and Development in the French-speaking World” at the University of Rouen from March 20-22, 2013, where she presented on “The Main Difficulties Faced by Malagasy Speakers in Acquiring and Practicing French as a Foreign Language (FLE).” In December 2019, she engaged in a teaching assignment at the University of Rouen. Currently, she serves as the Director of CELVA (Applied Living Languages Learning Center) located on the campus of the University of Toamasina. Her work focuses on the learning and acquisition of French and English, which are the primary foreign languages being introduced in Madagascar.

Son travail se concentre sur l’apprentissage et l’acquisition du français et de l’anglais, qui sont les principales langues étrangères introduites à Madagascar.

ENG: RATERARIJAONA Dimbinihary Josephson is a 29-year-old researcher whose parents come from farming backgrounds. Currently, he is undertaking a doctoral program in Sociology (Politics) at the University of Antananarivo. His research focuses on the examination of social relations as fundamental components for the establishment of cultural models. In addition to his academic pursuits, RATERARIJAONA actively engages in the field of education as a dedicated teacher of SES (Economics and Social Sciences) at a high school in Antananarivo. Through his teaching, he imparts valuable knowledge and cultivates the intellectual curiosity of his students. In 2022, RATERARIJAONA displayed his commitment to supporting aspiring Malagasy researchers by establishing an association known as HAROM-BARY. This non-profit organization is wholly devoted to providing assistance to young researchers in their scientific research endeavors. Moreover, the association assumes a critical role in the promotion and dissemination of scientific knowledge through social media platforms. Currently, RATERARIJAONA is working on his forthcoming book titled “Populism and Development.”

His approach is characterized by the integration of scientific research and practical application, bridging the gap between tradition and innovation, and connecting global perspectives with local contexts. Hervé firmly believes in the potential for fostering genuine harmony among societies through enhanced intercultural understanding, which can be achieved through the adoption of new communication practices. Currently, at FES Madagascar, Hervé Razafindranaivo serves as the program leader for the Youth Leadership Training Program. The primary objective of this program is to cultivate innovative political practices among the present generation of young individuals. Hervé is responsible for guiding and empowering these young people, equipping them with the necessary skills to become effective leaders. Hervé Razafindranaivo holds a PhD in Information and Communication Science, which has provided him with a solid academic foundation to support his work. With his extensive expertise and unwavering dedication, he actively contributes to the advancement and transformation of individuals, communities, and organizations.

ENG: Dr Velomahanina Razakamaharavo is a Research Fellow at the School of Politics, Economics and International Relations (SPEIR) at the University of Reading. She currently serves as the Principal Investigator of the ESRC-funded project Hybricon and as the Country Leader of the IDRC and FCDO-funded REPRESA project. Prior to her current role, Dr Razakamaharavo held positions as a Lecturer/Postdoctoral Fellow at the Hochschule für Politik München (HfP) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and as HfP’s Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow in Global Transformations during the 2019/20 academic year. She has also contributed to the field as a Scientific Collaborator at the Center for Political Science and Comparative Politics of UCLouvain in Belgium. Additionally, she was a Policy Leader Fellow at the School of Transnational Governance (STG) of the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, and a Junior Visiting Researcher at the Department of Government of Uppsala University and the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies of Umeå University, the Varieties of Peace program. Dr Razakamaharavo enriched her research experience as a Visiting Fellow at the Center on Conflict Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP) at the Graduate Institute of Geneva and as a Visiting Researcher at the Université Catholique de Louvain’s Center for Political Science and Comparative Politics, where she developed a novel methodology bridging Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) and in-depth narrative analysis to study the dynamics of conflict transformation and recurrence. She also shared her expertise as a Teaching Assistant in Comparative Research Design at the European Consortium of Political Research (ECPR) winter school. She was a Digital Sherlock of the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab, a network of scholars and practitioners identifying, exposing, and explaining disinformation where and when it occurs.

ENG: Professor Blanche Nirina RICHARD, having earned her Doctorate from Paris 7 and HDR from Paris 8, currently holds the position of Full Professor at the Department of Economics within the Faculty of Economics, Management, and Sociology (FEGS) at the University of Antananarivo. Her teaching and research focus on Health Economics, Public Economics, and Sustainable Development Economics. Throughout her academic journey, she has actively worked towards fostering inter-university cooperation at both national and international levels. Presently, she serves as the Director of CEDIMES Madagascar. Notably, at the University of Toamasina, she established and directed the highly regarded Master’s program in “Health Economics” (2004-2013) and the Doctoral School in “Sciences, Culture, Society, and Development” (2013). Since 2022, she has been serving as the Administrator of the University of Antananarivo, following her prior roles as Dean of the FEGS (2019-2020) and Director of Cooperation and Development (2007-2010). As the former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research (2019-2020) in Madagascar, Blanche Nirina RICHARD consistently upholds the value of excellence.

Tommy Jocelyno Solofoniaina holds the position of Research Professor at the Higher Institute of Regional Technology of the East Coast (ISTRCE), which is affiliated with the University of Toamasina. Tommy Jocelyno Solofoniaina est un Enseignant Chercheur de l’Institut Supérieur de Technologie Régional de la Côte Est (ISTRCE) de l’Université de Toamasina. ENG: Sanet (née Madonsela) Solomon is a Lecturer in the Department of Political Sciences at the University of South Africa (Pretoria, South Africa) and a PhD Student in the Centre for Gender and Africa Studies at the University of the Free State (Bloemfontein, South Africa). She currently serves as the Deputy Editor-In-Chief of the IAPSS Politikon and Regional Chair of IAPSS Africa, in addition to Chairing the SAAPS (South African Association for Political Studies’ Emerging Scholars Research Committee). Sanet is an internationally published author, double cum laude graduate, and member of the International Golden Key Honour Society. She serves as a Reviewer for numerous double-blind peer reviewed accredited journals. Examples include Politikon (Taylor and Francis) and Local Government Studies (Taylor and Francis), Insight on Africa (Sage), and International Studies (Sage). Her research focuses on Africa and the Middle East. Her latest academic publication is a Springer Nature book chapter on the climate-security-nexus in Mali.

ENG: Dr Hugues Tsaramaro, born on March 31, 1965, in Brickaville. In July 2018, he defended his doctoral thesis titled “Law, Morality, and Peace in Immanuel Kant’s Political Project,”. In December 2020, Hugues Tsaramaro was appointed as a Lecturer of Higher Education. He is currently on a path to obtain the Diploma of Habilitation to Supervise Research (HDR), further enhancing his academic qualifications. Adding to his notable accomplishments, Hugues Tsaramaro holds the esteemed position of President of the Establishment Council of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences at the University of Toamasina. Recently, Hugues Tsaramaro published a book titled “Immanuel Kant: the visionary of peace?” through European University Editions on November 2, 2022.

Récemment, Hugues Tsaramaro a publié un livre intitulé “Immanuel Kant : le visionnaire de la paix ?” aux éditions de l’Université européenne le 2 novembre 2022.

ENG: Ludonie Velotrasina is an academic and a dedicated PhD student in cultural philosophy at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Antananarivo. With a passion for cultural mediation, Ludonie focuses on the advancement of human development through the utilization of local knowledge and fostering citizen engagement through intercultural communication. A strong advocate for social justice, Ludonie actively incorporates gender perspectives into her cultural mediation approach. Throughout her academic journey, Ludonie’s research has centered around various captivating themes, including art, language, culture, national identities, decentralization, and educational management. By delving into these areas, Ludonie strives to shed light on the significance of cultural preservation and the profound impact it has on society. In addition to her academic pursuits, Ludonie is also an exceptional teacher, skillful cultural mediator, and trusted local development consultant. Drawing upon her extensive expertise, Ludonie empowers individuals and communities to bridge cultural gaps and foster mutual understanding. Currently, Ludonie holds the role of interim Chairman of the Board (PCA) at the NGO Ilontsera, a media observatory in Madagascar.

Avec une passion pour la médiation culturelle, Ludonie se concentre sur la promotion du développement humain grâce à l’utilisation des savoirs locaux et la stimulation de l’engagement citoyen par la communication interculturelle. En tant que fervente défenseuse de la justice sociale, Ludonie intègre activement les perspectives de genre dans son approche de la médiation culturelle. Tout au long de son parcours académique, les recherches de Ludonie se sont centrées sur des thématiques captivantes telles que l’art, la langue, la culture, les identités nationales, la décentralisation et la gestion éducative. En explorant ces domaines, Ludonie s’efforce d’éclairer l’importance de la préservation culturelle et son impact profond sur la société. En plus de ses activités académiques, Ludonie est également une enseignante exceptionnelle, une médiatrice culturelle compétente et une consultante de confiance en développement local. S’appuyant sur son expertise approfondie, Ludonie donne les moyens aux individus et aux communautés de combler les écarts culturels et de favoriser la compréhension mutuelle. Actuellement, Ludonie occupe le poste de présidente intérimaire du conseil d’administration (PCA) au sein de l’ONG Ilontsera, un observatoire des médias à Madagascar.

ENG: Serge Zafimahova is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in development policy strategy, geopolitical and geostrategic strategy of mineral commodities, political and/or investment risk analysis, and privatization policy management. Alongside his expertise in psychology and other strategic disciplines, Serge is also a published author, with one of his notable works being “Madagascar, the Challenge of the Future: From the Poverty Trap to the Virtuous Circle of Progress.” Released in September 2021, this comprehensive 414-page book showcases Serge’s multidisciplinary approach as he delves into the hurdles faced by Madagascar and advocates for a crucial paradigm shift to ensure sustainable progress and development in the nation.

FR: Serge Zafimahova est un professionnel chevronné avec une expérience diversifiée dans la stratégie de politique de développement, la stratégie géopolitique et géostratégique des matières premières minérales, l’analyse des risques politiques et/ou d’investissement, ainsi que la gestion de la politique de privatisation. En plus de son expertise en psychologie et dans d’autres disciplines stratégiques, Serge est également un auteur publié, avec l’un de ses ouvrages remarquables intitulé “Madagascar, le défi de l’avenir : de la trappe à pauvreté au cercle vertueux du progrès”. Publié en septembre 2021, ce livre complet de 414 pages met en avant l’approche multidisciplinaire de Serge alors qu’il explore les obstacles auxquels Madagascar est confronté et plaide en faveur d’un changement de paradigme crucial pour assurer un progrès durable et un développement dans le pays.

ENG: Professor Zafitody Conscient is a distinguished researcher and academic holding positions at both ISCTRE (Institut Supérieur de Technologie Régional de la Cote-Est) and the University of Toamasina. With a background as an Agricultural Engineer and a Doctorate in Agricultural Sciences, he brings extensive expertise to his field. Additionally, he holds an HDR (Habilitation to Supervise Research) in Science, Environment, and Social Development. Specializing in Rural Development, Prof Zafitody Conscient serves as the First Director of ISTRCE and is an esteemed member of the Malagasy Academy within the section of Fundamental Sciences. Notably, he has served as the Former President of the University of Toamasina. His research endeavors primarily center around the capitalization of local knowledge, as well as exploring topics related to Economy and Rural Sociology.

FR: Professeur Zafitody Conscient est un chercheur et universitaire éminent occupant des postes à la fois à l’ISCTRE (Institut Supérieur de Technologie Régional de la Côte-Est) et à l’Université de Toamasina. Avec une formation d’ingénieur agronome et un doctorat en sciences agricoles, il apporte une expertise approfondie à son domaine. De plus, il détient une HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) en Sciences, Environnement et Développement Social. Spécialiste du développement rural, Professeur Zafitody Conscient occupe le poste de premier directeur de l’ISTRCE et est un membre éminent de l’Académie malgache, dans la section des sciences fondamentales. Il a notamment été ancien président de l’Université de Toamasina. Ses recherches portent principalement sur la valorisation des connaissances locales et l’exploration de sujets liés à l’économie et à la sociologie rurale.
