Dr Ellen Pilsworth’s forthcoming monograph Reading Hitler’s Victims: Refugee Memoirs of Nazi Persecution for British Readers during Appeasement and War is now in production with Berghahn Books. It will be launched at the University of Reading in October 2026. Ellen is looking forward to discussing her book with Reading Professor Emeritus Bryan Cheyette, whose course on reading Holocaust testimony was the first of its kind in a British university.
The event will be run in collaboration with Reading’s History seminar series, and the seminar series of the Centre for Book Cultures and Publishing. More info to follow in due course.
