The SPECIAL group was part of the annual migration of European scientists to Vienna for the European Geosciences Union annual meeting again this year. The SISAL group was well represented at EGU, with an interesting PICO session dedicated largely to the SISAL Special Issue in Quaternary. There seemed to be fewer palaeo-sessions than in former years, but there were some very interesting presentations on the Dansgaard-Oeschger cycles.  We used the opportunity to meet up with some of our research collaborators from the Prentice Lab at Imperial and from the Tsinghua Tiger Team, as well as key collaborators from FireMIP and the NextGen Veg Modelling group. More news about the science highlights in the next blog from Mark……..

Collaborators from around the world enjoy discussing science over an Austrian dinner.
