Abstract: CMA-CPSv3 is the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) Climate Prediction System version 3 that used for sub-seasonal to seasonal prediction on every weekly, monthly to annual prediction on every month. It is based on the climate system BCC-CSM2-HR originally developed by the Beijing Climate Centre (BCC), CMA. BCC-CSM2-HR is the global fully coupled atmosphere-ocean-land-sea ice model with a horizontal resolution of T266 (approximately 45 km) in atmosphere and 0.25ox0.25o in ocean. It has 56 layers in the vertical and 0.092 hPa for the top of model (Wu et al., 2021). This model was participated in CMIP6-endorsed HighResMIP. Its climate prediction performance is significantly improved with compared to the previous generation system, especially in monsoon circulation and MJO prediction. It has been used for S2S prediction project, and will be used for sub-seasonal to decadal climate prediction.
