Student placements and internships

Students in any School and programme across the University are welcome to gain research or work experience in CINN, irrespective of their field of study, subject to capacity.

CINN participates in the various placement and research internship programmes of the University (such as the year-long professional placement of relevant degree courses, the UROP programme, PhD interdisciplinary placement opportunities, etc.). In cases were CINN-based placement opportunities are advertised, please follow the relevant application process.

If CINN is not featured in the relevant placement scheme, but you are interested in our work, you may still be able to undertake your placement with us. Your proposed placement will be part of your curriculum or programme, so it is important to discuss your plans with your programme’s placement coordinator in the first instance. Once their approval is in place, to further explore the possibility of gaining research or work experience in CINN please email cinn@reading.ac.uk To help align your proposed placement with your interests and motivation, you can explore the work of individual investigatots in CINN by visiting their profile pages or the pages of the research themes of the centre.

Please note that CINN does not take on students on voluntary placements outside of a course curriculum. Job and paid internship opportunities are advertised in our jobs and opportunities webpages.
