The Department of Philosophy at the University of Reading seeks applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work for two years on an interdisciplinary research project funded by the John Templeton Foundation, entitled “Mistakes in Living Systems: A New Conceptual Framework for the Study of Purpose in Biology”.

The project will be conducted within the larger, multi-year, multi-million-pound research program funded by the Foundation, involving research teams in various countries: “Agency, Directionality, and Function: Foundations for a Science of Purpose”.

The Fellow will conduct research within a small interdisciplinary team of philosophers and scientists, led by Prof. David Oderberg as Principal Investigator. The team will work within a cluster of teams researching related topics, thus giving valuable opportunities for collaboration.
