Study overview

We would be grateful to you if you could assist us by participating in our study exploring how different parts of the brain can help people hold visual information in mind for a short time when irrelevant information is presented. While we record your brain activity in the MRI scanner, you will be asked to perform a working memory task. Duration -1.5h (30 min – training, 60 min- scanning). You will be reimbursed for your time (plus you will get a picture of your brain). This study has received ethical approval by the University of Reading Research Ethics Committee, project UREC 21/10, end date 01/10/2024.

Who is running the study?

This study takes place in the Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics (CINN). The study Principal Investigator is Dr Eva Feredoes. Experimental work is reviewed by the University of Reading Research Ethics Committee.

Who can take part in this study?

We invite healthy volunteers aged 18 and 45 years. You may not be able to participate in the study if you have metal in their upper body, body implants (cochlear implant, an implanted neurostimulator), medication infusion devices, cardiac pacemakers or intracardiac lines.

How do I find out more?

To find out more, including ways in which you can get involved, please contact Olga Leticevscaia (olga.leticevscaia@pgr.reading.ac.uk). You can also read the participant information here.

Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics (CINN)
Research at the Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics (CINN) investigates the dynamical interactions that bring about human thought and behaviour – from the fast neural timescale of a few milliseconds, to the slow timescale of life-span development.
