Anne Mary Wickes was born in Bengal, India, like her sister, Julia Katharine Wickes.  Eventually she became an artist and was based in Hampstead, London. She exhibited her work at three of the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions (1915, 1920, 1922).  The Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition catalogues indicate that she was a portrait painter.
