Funding Opportunities

Funding Opportunities with the IDRC DH

The IDRC DH and DH Hub currently offer 2 distinct internal funding opportunities, available exclusively to eligible staff at the University of Reading. These schemes are tailored to support researchers to pilot DH methodologies, produce innovative research workflows, and develop their academic and professional skills whilst employed at Reading.

Our funding schemes also aim to support the development of digitally enabled research across the University. Further details on eligibility, application processes, and deadlines are available on the individual funding pages. These opportunities run at different times of the year, and webpages are updated periodically depending on the funding cycle phase. As projects end, we will also feature successful applicants on our site.

Bursaries and Ad-Hoc Support

We do not currently offer ad-hoc funding in the form of small bursaries for training and travel. In the first phase of the DH project at Reading, the DH Hub was able to support researchers in applications to the Digital Humanities Oxford Summer School. Now that the IDRC DH has been established, funding has been redirected to support internal activities.

Although this is still a valuable and insightful external training offering, staff are advised to use their Staff Development Allowance and other sources of internal funding to support their attendance. The Hub has attended different strands of the School and is happy to advise if you need help.
