Two nutrition students from the University of Reading have given outstanding performances in the finals of the 2018 IFST Young Scientist competition – with one winning her category outright.
Nicole Dorrington, who is in her final year studying for a BSc in Food and Nutritional Science, was one of the six students nominated in the Undergraduate category of the national competition, while Laury Sellem, who is in the first year of a PhD focused on investigating fatty acid biomarkers of dairy intake and CVD risk, was a finalist in the Postgraduate category.
Both gave strong presentations for the final, which was held on the 9th of May, and Laury won the overall prize for the Postgraduate category.
