This project is led by PhD student Rama Kanj, under the supervision of Prof. Vesna Stojanovik and Prof. Ludovica Serratrice as a second reader at the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences.
What is this project about?
This project will investigate language acquisition in multilingual Lebanese children (L1: Lebanese Arabic, L2: French and/or English) with a particular focus on the semantic-lexical domain. It will take a closer look factors influencing lexical acquisition including demographics and cognitive processes such as working memory and processing speed. Additionally, the project will explore implications of multilingualism on vocabulary assessment and look into different methods of estimating true vocabulary size in multilingual children.
