Beckett Week 2018 will take place at the University of Reading in the penultimate week of November (19th - 25th November). The Samuel Beckett Research Centre will host a range of public and academic events designed to explore the influence of Beckett's work and give participants unparalleled access to archive materials held in the University's Special Collections. Modernist Archives in Context: Periodicals
This event invites academics, practitioners, postgraduates and other interested parties to engage in discussions surrounding Samuel Beckett’s involvement in Modernist periodicals. It seeks to contextualise the human and material dynamics in which authors like Beckett operated, and offers an opportunity to engage with archival material. The event, supported by the Samuel Beckett Research Centre, will use the Beckett archive at Reading to explore the diverse literary and performance networks that continue to spread across disciplines and genres. - Friday 23rd November
Modernist Archives in Context: Performance
As part of Beckett Week at Reading 2018, this event will discuss Samuel Beckett’s creative relationships in theatre. It will explore Beckett’s lasting influence as a playwright and director, with close reference to Billie Whitelaw and Jocelyn Herbert’s papers, held in the Reading archives, as well as to the Staging Beckett database. - Saturday 24th November

Fees for the Modernist Archives in Context: Periodicals and Performance
This 2-day conference will include lunches and refreshments, as well as attendance of research panels, hands-on workshops, a keynote on modernist periodicals by Professor Andrew Thacker, and a Q&A with additional invited speaker(s). Fees are as follows:
- Postgraduates and unwaged: £10 for one day or £15 for both days
- Early Career Researchers: £15 for one day or £25 for both days
- Fully waged: £25 for one day or £40 for both days
