Robert McCrum

Robert McCrum is a novelist, journalist, and literary editor. He was editorial director at Faber and Faber from 1979 to 1989, and then editor-in-chief from 1990 to 1996. Subsequently, he has been literary editor, then associate editor, of The Observer newspaper (-2012).

His most recent fiction includes The Psychological Moment, Jubilee, and Suspicion. His non-fiction includes My Year Off: Recovering Life after a Stroke, P.G. Wodehouse: A Life, and Every Third Thought: On Life, Death, and the Endgame.

Robert was Creative Fellow at the Centre from 2019-20, and worked on a drama relating to Beckett’s experiences during World War Two.
