The Beckett International Foundation
The Beckett International Foundation (BIF) was established at the University of Reading in 1988 to further the study and appreciation of the work of Samuel Beckett (1906-1989). It is a charitable trust that has long-standing connections with international scholars, film, television and theatre practitioners, and the Beckett Estate.
Working alongside the University's Special Collections team, the Beckett International Foundation is heavily involved in the management and curation of the publicly accessible Beckett Collection. It also serves the international Beckett research community through its publications, conferences and other events. The Foundation supports the research and teaching of Beckett's work at all degree levels and in a variety of departments across the University of Reading.
